Celebrating the 20th Anniversary of California AB422
CAILA celebrated the 20th anniversary of California Assembly Bill 422, which pioneered “publisher file requests” to provide accommodations for students with disabilities.
This event took place September 16th, 2019 in Sacramento, California. Read about it here.
Proposal for Accessibility Label Legislation
CAILA proposes that California require educational material vendors to label their products intended for student use with accessibility information. The Act would empower students with disabilities by giving them vital information about their textbooks and other materials. Read a draft version of the Act here.
“I've spent years working with publishers to transform to digital, now focused on transformation to born accessible content. In my humble opinion every publisher needs to read your articulate post.”
