Celebrating the 20th Anniversary of California AB422
CAILA is pleased to announce an event celebrating the 20th anniversary of California Assembly Bill 422, which pioneered “publisher file requests” to provide accommodations for students with disabilities.
This event will take place September 16th, 2019 in Sacramento, California.
Proposal for Accessibility Label Legislation
CAILA proposes that California require educational material vendors to label their products intended for student use with accessibility information. The Act would empower students with disabilities by giving them vital information about their textbooks and other materials. Read a draft version of the Act here.

The CAILA Guide to Selling Accessible Publishing is a free publication encouraging publishers to engage students with disabilities as customers while providing a strategy for accessibility to be profitable.
